Tyler Rich came too close for comfort with a grizzly bear during his last vacation with his wife, Sabina Gadecki.
The Leave Her Wild singer, 39, recently celebrated his six-year anniversary with the Dangerous Matrimony actress during a trip to Yellowstone.
“We went down (to) Yellowstone and went on a couple hikes and stuff,” the singer said. “It was pretty cool.”
While vacationing in the iconic national park, the couple had an encounter with one of the area’s most dangerous wild animals.
To the Taste of Country, he recalled, “We were alone, on ATVs, and literally like 20 years in front of us was a Volkswagen-sized grizzly and her two cubs, and I just froze.”
“I didn’t know what to do,” he added. “I had like 20 ideas.”
Luckily for the couple, the mama bear turned and ran in the opposite direction.
“She literally ran away from us, but the trail we had to keep going on on the ATV trail, where they were just running,” Tyler detailed.
The singer said the moment “humbled” him, however, his wife didn’t understand how much danger they were actually in.
He remembered the conversation the two had afterwards, saying, “I told my wife, I was like, ‘A mom grizzly bear that thinks her cubs are threatened is the number one apex predator on the Earth.’”
Sabina saw the encounter as more romantic than terrifying.
“She actually said something like that, she said, ‘You know, it might have been a sweet ending.’
“I obviously would have just run straight at the bear so she could get away,” he concluded. “And she was like, ‘No, I would run at the bear.’”

The two met at the Stagecoach Festival in 2016. Four years later, they got married in a festival-themed ceremony.
They have maintained a long-distance relationship throughout their time together.
Tyler is based in Nashville, Tenn., while Sabina lives in Los Angeles.
“My dream keeps me in Nashville, and hers in LA,” he wrote to Instagram. “We are lucky to spend half the month together when we can, wherever that may be.”
The singer keeps their connection alive by performing with the same bandana he wore the day they met, now laced with her perfume and tucked into his pocket.
