Jen Hamilton reflected on the whirlwind of emotions that followed her best-selling book’s release mere weeks before her marriage to estranged husband Brian publicly imploded.
“I hit #1 [on the New York Times] Best Seller List and then an undercover OPP in my life hijacked this special time in my life with some bulls*** so I couldn’t even market the book I had worked so hard on for the last few years,” Jen, 35, shared via Instagram on Wednesday, July 22, declining to name the so-called “undercover” individual by name.
Her video — set to Cardi B’s “Hello – Beat” — flashed to her holding up a copy of her book, Birth Vibes, before cutting to her twerking for the camera.
“I’m back. This is me making up for all that lost time the best/only way I know how,” she declared. “[Birth Vibes] is really good. It’s for pregnant people, moms, dads, sisters, nurses, doulas, doctors, midwives, or anyone who loves stories of human compassion.”
Birth Vibes: Stories and Strategies for an Empowered Birth is a collection of wisdom gained from her years working as a labor and delivery nurse. The memoir hit shelves on May 5, around the same time as speculation arose that she was going through a marital crisis.
On June 15, Jen released a statement she’d written with her estranged husband confirming the former couple’s separation. (The pair share two sons, Ellis and Luke.)
“Yes, we are separating,” their initial statement read. “This comes with enormous pain for the both of us but also gratitude for the 15 years of shared history, love, and friendship. What we are committed to is loving each other well through this transition and placing the wellbeing of the family we created at the center.”
They went on, “We are hoping our paths diverging in physical location will make space and room for mental healing for the other. We still are committed to being a team. We even wrote this together (and without chatgpt). We both want to be very clear. This wasn’t about falling out of love. That’s why this is so devastating. It was about recognizing that sometimes the most loving thing you can do is give someone space to figure out complex things. And that’s exactly what we are doing.”
Jen subsequently announced on June 29 that she’d temporarily stepped away from nursing in order to process her separation.
“My patients do not deserve the mental state that I would bring to the bedside right now. One moment, I’m OK. The next moment, I’m not OK,” she acknowledged.
At the time, Jen expressed support for Brian making positive changes in his life.
“Even after everything that has happened, I have no animosity, no ill will. I want him to find himself,” she explained to TikTok viewers in June. “I want him to be the bestest version of himself that he’s ever been. I’m gonna be his biggest cheerleader as he is on that journey.”
Jen went on, “I’m also going to be my biggest cheerleader. I am going to model for my children what it means to have healthy relationships, healthy self-worth and allowing those that we love the very most in this world to accept and embrace the gift that is accountability and consequence for the decisions that we make in this life.”
More recently, Jen posted a TikTok that started with her inhaling as she made an apparent realization about her failed marriage.
Text over the screen read, “Me crying for weeks about a man I was loyal to for 15 years who wanted everyone but me.”

The clip then cut to her opening her eyes as more text flashed on screen, “Remembers … I’m a #1 NYT [New York Times] Best Selling Author with the phattest ass … I am not worthless.”
The influencer has been incredibly candid with her social media followers about how she is dealing with her split from Brian. On Tuesday, she said that she initially worried she might not be able to “live” through the trauma of the split.
“There were a few moments I didn’t know if I was going to live, OK? As you find out new information, that feeling of not being able to live gets pretty strong,” Jen acknowledged.
However, Jen credited relying on her “five Ms” — “meditation,” “meds,” a “mentorship,” “mingling,” and “Megan Thee Stallion” — with helping move forward in a healthier space.
“The stuff that is going on in your life, you did not ask for. You didn’t ask for any of this stuff. But not only are you taking what has been shoved up your butt, but you’re also doing life. Because you have to,” she said “You may be able to distract me from my joy [but] you cannot have it.”
