Since 1974, October 1 has been recognized to be International Music Day. Because of this, we’re showcasing Missourians’ favorite music to listen to.
A survey conducted by Wisevoter in 2022 ranks the top 5 most listened to genres for each state.
Top Music Genres in Missouri
Electronic Dance Music (EDM)
Overall, rap music was most dominant, being the preferred music choice for 23 states, with country right behind it in 22 states. Rock was the favorite in 5 states.

As for individual artists, Taylor Swift was the most popular in 20 states, including Missouri. Drake and Bad Bunny were tied with 15 states each.
