Newly released dashcam footage shows police pulling over Britney Spears for erratic driving at high speed near the Los Angeles and Ventura county border, after a 911 call from another driver on the 101 Freeway.

After approaching Spears’ vehicle, officers told the 44-year-old pop star they had seen her swerving between two lanes. Spears apologized, telling the officers she had been on her phone.

Shortly after, police told Spears they could smell alcohol coming from the vehicle and asked her to step outside the car to perform a sobriety test. The dashcam footage captures a nervous Spears pleading with officers and inviting them to her home for dinner.

“You can come to my house — I’ll make you food or lasagna or whatever you want,” she says in the video. “I have a pool.”

She also added that her children were coming to her house that night. She shares two sons, Sean Preston Federline and Jayden James Federline, with ex-husband Kevin Federline.

Spears, who was the only person in the vehicle, was arrested for suspected DUI. Police later found an empty wine glass and an unprescribed bottle of Adderall in her car.

Following the arrest, Spears’ representative released a statement calling the incident “completely inexcusable.” Adding that this would hopefully be “the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life. Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time.”

In April, Spears voluntarily checked herself into a treatment facility, and on May 4 pleaded guilty through her attorney Michael A. Goldstein.

Pop star Britney Spears was arrested Wednesday night by California Highway Patrol on suspicion of DUI.

Spears admitted to violating California’s “wet reckless” law, which provides plea options in cases for defendants without a prior DUI history and a low blood-alcohol level in a case not involving a crash or injuries.

Spears was sentenced to 12 months of probation, ordered to pay state-mandated fines and complete a DUI education program. Court records also credited her with one day of time served.

The Grammy winner’s arrest came about five years after a judge ended the controversial conservatorship that gave her father control over her finances and career for more than a decade.

Spears became the face of the #FreeBritney movement, a public campaign that supported her efforts to regain control over her medical, personal and financial decisions. Following the highly publicized conservatorship battle, California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a bill limiting conservatorships that grant legal guardianship over individuals.

Britney Spears has left rehab amid a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol and at least one drug. The pop superstar voluntarily checked herself into rehab weeks after being pulled over for allegedly driving erratically back in March. Now, it appears she’s out of rehab, photographed back home as charges are officially filed. NBC legal analyst Misty Marris explains why Spears will avoid jail time but isn’t being let off easy because she’s a celebrity.

Spears shared her experience under the conservatorship in her best-selling 2023 memoir “The Woman In Me,” describing how her life was controlled by others.

Spears, who has not previously been arrested, was behind some of music’s biggest pop hits, including “…Baby One More Time,” “Oops!… I Did It Again!,” “Womanizer” and “I’m a Slave 4 U.” Spears won her first Grammy in 2004 for Best Dance Recording for “Toxic.”

Earlier this year, Spears sold the rights to her music catalog.
