Now that it’s October, it’s time for Halloween movies dominate your TV and movie theater viewing.
Minerva’s Roxy Theatre, 120 N. Market St., plans a costume party along with a screening of the beloved “Hocus Pocus” at 7 p.m. Oct. 11.
Doors open at 6:15 p.m., and the costume contest will be at 7 p.m., followed by the film. Dress as your favorite Sanderson sister or any other character from the movie for a chance to win a prize. There will be group and individual winners.
“Hocus Pocus” is a 1993 American horror-fantasy-comedy film directed by Kenny Ortega, and starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy. The film tells the story of a Halloween-hating teenager named Max Dennison, who inadvertently resurrects three witches and must risk his life to protect his sister Dani by defeating the trio.
Tickets are $5 for ages 12 and younger, and $8 for regular admission.
