Aerosmith Remembers 2015 Performance With Taylor Swift at the 1989 World Tour

In an Instagram post shared on Friday, Oct. 3 marking the release of The Life of a Showgirl, Aerosmith shared a throwback video from Swift’s 1989 World Tour, during which she collaborated with the iconic frontman at her stop in Nashville, Tenn.

The performance took place at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville back in September 2015 while Swift was touring for her 5th studio album, 1989. She brought Tyler out on stage to join her in singing his band’s beloved track, “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing.”

The caption on the post also read, “#AeroHistory 2015 – Steven joined @taylorswift for ‘I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing’ during her 1989 World Tour at Bridgestone Arena.”

“Can we do this again??” one commenter implored on Instagram.

“This means everything to me as a swiftie and an Aerosmith fan,” someone else added.

During the same tour, Swift brought out a variety of surprise guests to many of her shows, including fellow musicians, as well as some actors and athletes. A few of the most memorable names who joined Swift on stage at the 1989 tour include Selena Gomez, Mariska Hargitay, Mary J. Blige, Kobe Bryant, Nick Jonas, Fetty Wap, Ciara, Julia Roberts and many, many more.

Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl Breaks Records

The sweet message from Aerosmith was just one of many shoutouts Swift has received since dropping her highly-anticipated 12th album.

The 12-song album has already smashed a number of impressive records since its release on Friday, and it’s still expected to break a few more.

Less than 24 hours after the album released, it broke a record on Spotify, becoming the platform’s most-streamed album in a single day this year.

The success of The Life of a Showgirl has also put Swift on track to break the record for the most first-week album sales, a title that’s been held by Adele for 10 years.

In its first day of release, Swift’s new album sold 2.7 million copies of physical and digital versions, which isn’t too far behind Adele’s record for her album 25, which sold 3.378 million copies during its first week of release in 2015. Plus, Swift still has several days left to make up the ~600,000 difference.
