Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl Breaks Records
The sweet message from Aerosmith was just one of many shoutouts Swift has received since dropping her highly-anticipated 12th album.
The 12-song album has already smashed a number of impressive records since its release on Friday, and it’s still expected to break a few more.
Less than 24 hours after the album released, it broke a record on Spotify, becoming the platform’s most-streamed album in a single day this year.
The success of The Life of a Showgirl has also put Swift on track to break the record for the most first-week album sales, a title that’s been held by Adele for 10 years.
In its first day of release, Swift’s new album sold 2.7 million copies of physical and digital versions, which isn’t too far behind Adele’s record for her album 25, which sold 3.378 million copies during its first week of release in 2015. Plus, Swift still has several days left to make up the ~600,000 difference.
