Meghan Markle is being accused of disrespecting Prince Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana.
On Sunday, October 5, the Duchess of Sussex, 44, took to her Instagram Story to share a video that she seemingly shot from her limousine in Paris while passing by the Pont Alexandre III and the Pont des Invalides bridges. At one point, she panned to her feet on the seat in front of her.
Social media users were quick to point out that the next bridge along the Seine River is the Pont de l’Alma — where Diana tragically perished in a car crash in the Pont de l’Alma tunnel in 1997, next to it.
Fans took to X to share their thoughts on the video, with many feeling that it was inconsiderate to post.
“She knows exactly what she’s doing. Nothing Meghan does around Diana’s legacy is ever accidental,” one user commented.
“I honestly do NOT know how to process this,” a second fan admitted. “It’s not like she got a beautiful shot of the city. There was no reason why she had to post herself in the car at all. How can anyone NOT think this was deliberate?!”
“It’s obvious disrespect since she filmed it to be posted,” a third person wrote.
However, some users came to the With Love, Meghan star’s defense, insisting people were reading too much into the short clip.
“Silly thing to complain about. I’m very much not a Meghan fan, but the girl spends a lot of time in terrible shoes,” one person pointed out. “Let her put her feet up, wherever she is.”

Markle has yet to respond to the backlash. However, she did share a video of her trip during Paris Fashion Week — where she attended the Balenciaga fashion show — on Instagram.
