Justin Bieber paid a visit to Dundee earlier this week during his trip to Scotland and was so impressed by one venue that he filmed an entire ‘impromptu’ music video there.
Justin Bieber has released a music video for his new track Bad Honey with the entire shoot being filmed at Abandon Ship on Dundee’s Whitehall Crescent. The 31-year-old, who has been enjoying his visit to Scotland for the Dunhill Links Championship in St Andrews, made another unexpected pitstop in Dundee this week where he was seen partying with the locals at bars.
And it turns out Justin liked the venue of one particular bar so much, he decided to shoot his entire music video for his latest single in it, with the star’s photographer, Rory Kramer, confirming it was an ‘impromptu’ decision to film in the bar. Taking to Instagram on Monday evening, Bieber uploaded the video for the entire two minutes and 36 second track which shows dancing around the empty bar in an oversized hoodie and sweatpants, with a pint in his hand.
The Dundee bar is known for its bold artwork, neon signs and sailor theme, with several shots showing the singer sitting on the bar in front of the venue’s signature “not everything sucks” sign. Justin captioned the video: “Bad honey visual for your headtops shot by @rorykramer.”
The new track features on the singer’s surprise album, SWAG II, which he released on September 5.
Kramer also took to social media to write: “Shot this impromptu video when we went out in Scotland the other night. Then Justin and I cut the video together on the flight home.”
Scottish fans were delighted with Justin’s choice of filming location as they rushed to the comment section to gush over the release.
One wrote: “Making this in a bar in Dundee?! Incredible.” Another echoed: “JB shooting a video in Dundee was not on my list for any year never mind 25! “
A third remarked: “Never in my life would I imagine Biebs posting a picture from a Dundee bar I am burst.”
Bieber appeared to have a brilliant time during his trip to Scotland with many of his supporters commenting on how ‘happy’ he looked.
Many fans took to social media with videos of the singer partying and chatting away with locals.
In one of the clips, Bieber is reportedly on facetime to his wife, Hailey Bieber, who he shares his son Jack Blues with.
The pop star also shared an amusing clip of him attempting to order a burrito with his friends in a limo while at a McDonalds drive-thru.
His trip to Dundee came just hours after Justin enjoyed a round of golf at St Andrews’ Castle Course.
