Rio De Janeiro, Brazil – Ingrid Guimarães, one of the most popular comedic actors in Brazil, is pivoting from blockbuster comedies to drama with “Minha Criança Trans?” (“My Trans Child?” in literal translation). The project is currently in development, with production slated to begin in 2027. Guilherme Coelho and Mariana Ferraz will produce for Matizar Filmes, alongside Guimarães.
Vitrine Filmes, the major independent distributor behind “The Secret Agent,” will handle Brazilian distribution and co-invest in the project’s development.
Guimarães has long been widely bankable in the South American country, and holds the record for the star with the largest national box office of the decade at just over R$23 million (US$4.2 million).
