The Beach Boys performed a show at the Meritage Resort in Napa, California, on Sunday, Oct. 12. At one point during the evening, singer Mike Love paused the show to pay tribute to late bandmate Brian Wilson, who died in June 2025.
“We want you to see this,” Love told the crowd, according to the Daily Mail. “We lost Brian earlier this year, but he will always be in our hearts, it’s like he is still here,” he said, wiping tears from his eyes. Just then, a photo montage of Wilson was played on the big screens at the venue.
The Beach Boys played all of their hit songs that evening, as Love was joined by his son, Christian Love on a few of the tracks. Beach Boys member Bruce Johnston was also at the show, as were Brian Eichenberger, Tim Bonhomme, Jon Bolton, Keith Hubacher, Randy Leago and John Wedemeyer, per the outlet.
Wilson died from “respiratory arrest,” according to TMZ. He was just 82-years-old. After the news broke, many people — including Love — posted tributes online.
“Brian Wilson wasn’t just the heart of The Beach Boys—he was the soul of our sound. From the first time we sang together as kids in my living room, I knew there was something otherworldly in him. His musical gifts were unmatched. The melodies he dreamed up, the emotions he poured into every note—Brian changed the course of music forever,” Love wrote on Instagram.
“Our journey together was filled with moments of brilliance, heartbreak, laughter, complexity and most of all, LOVE . Like all families, we had our ups and downs. But through it all, we never stopped loving each other, and I never stopped being in awe of what he could do when he sat at a piano or his spontaneity in the studio,” he continued, adding that he and his wife were “heartbroken.”
According to their official website, The Beach Boys have several more shows coming up. It’s unknown if they will pay tribute to Wilson at each show.
