L.A.-based production company Electric Entertainment will produce Dana Elazar-Halevi’s best-selling young adult book series Secret Mission for TV.

Electric unveiled the news out of MIPCOM on Tuesday with the Co-Production Company, a subsidiary of France’s Superprod Group, co-producing shows in France, Italy, and the U.K., and Ananey Studios also teaming up on the project.

Elazar-Halevi’s fast-paced, live-action YA thriller blends espionage, romance, and coming-of-age drama set against the backdrops of major cities around the world. The announcement was made today jointly by Dean Devlin, CEO of Electric Entertainment, The Co-Production Company EPs Doug Schwalbe and Amy Friedman and Ananey Studio’s vp, international relations, Hila Pachter.

“This marks our first international co-production, and we couldn’t be more excited to step into the Young Adult market,” said Devlin. “The book series feels like a teen version of our popular franchise Leverage — full of clever twists, team dynamics, and high-stakes missions. We can’t wait to see these stories come to life and watch the adventures leap off the page and onto the screen.”

Also announced Tuesday, Electric Entertainment has entered into an agreement with Content Partners Capital (CPC), the newly-launched private capital division of leading entertainment investment company Content Partners, securing $20 million in capital to support growth plans for its studio.

The transaction is the next in a line of deals that CPC has closed since launching in April last year.

“This investment will allow us to continue our rapid growth at the pace we’ve established over the years,” added Devlin.

“We have been fortunate to produce, nurture, and expand a number of highly successful television franchises and beloved fan-favorite IPs, including Leverage, The Librarians, and The Ark, among others. We are ecstatic about our new relationship with Content Partners Capital and believe this partnership will be mutually rewarding for everyone involved.”
