Tom Daley may have only been the second murder victim on The Celebrity Traitors, but he made quite the impression in his short time on the show thanks to some viral moments.
Alongside giving Kate Garraway a side-eye for her overuse of the word “flabbergasted”, he also got a lot of viewers talking about his shower scene. During a cutaway showing the celebrities reflecting on the day, the Olympian was shown soaping himself up in the shower.
Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, Tom admitted the moment was “weird to film”.

“Very weird to film, but I have spent most of my time half naked diving off diving boards then in the shower anyway, so it feels a bit more normal to me.
“I think those moments add to the campiness of the show, those pyjama scenes, those bedroom scenes, the reading a book, having a bath. I feel they add to the drama of the show so you have to be up for it.

“It is very weird and quite surreal, but it’s also like… Obviously I was the one to strip off.”
Tom added that he also didn’t realise he had given Kate the look he had while they were taking part in a challenge. “I had no idea that I had even given that much of a side-eye but I clearly have no poker face. It’s been funny to watch back,” he said.
“It wasn’t an intentional moment, we’re face on so there’s no one that can really see us. But the way she’d been acting I thought she’s definitely a traitor, she has to be.”

Tom also talked about how he felt leaving the show so early on.
“I was obviously gutted. The way I saw it afterwards, it felt like a compliment and people were shocked that I was murdered,” he said.
“But really I just get FOMO, obviously you want to be able to see what happens and be there for it. But it was nice to be able to go back to my family a little bit earlier and not have to stay for the full three weeks.
“I wasn’t expecting it, I thought I was going to get banished soon as my name had been coming up so it felt like it was a really random decision from the Traitors but here we are.”
The Celebrity Traitors airs Wednesday and Thursday nights at 9pm, and streams on BBC iPlayer. Companion show The Traitors Uncloaked follows straight afterwards on BBC Two.
