Now, Jason Alexander, a longtime friend of the singer and her ex-husband, has taken to Instagram to show support for Spears and share his sentiments on the matter.

Jason and Britney were very close friends, and the duo tied the knot for a very short time in 2004. Now, with Federline’s memoir stirring up controversies, Alexander has spoken out, showing strong support for his ex-partner. He shared an Instagram post featuring a before-and-after picture, comparing Federline’s appearance before and after receiving Spears’ child support checks.
He also posted a long caption, starting with, “Kevin, You Don’t Get to Rewrite the Story Without Owning Your Role.”
The 44-year-old actor further mentioned that Federline’s book has shown the singer in a very bad light. And, since he has known her for a long time, he doesn’t want to stay silent. He asked Federline to tell “half the story” when he was “in the middle of it.”
“It’s easy to point fingers now, to talk about Britney’s struggles like you were just some innocent bystander watching it all happen. But that’s not what went down. You were her husband. You were supposed to be her protector. Instead, you were partying right alongside her,” he added in his post’s caption.
The actor further expressed his disappointment with Federline, saying the latter “didn’t walk away empty-handed.” He mentioned how Federline got “full custody, child support, and a lifestyle” funded by Spears, whom he now wants to distance himself from.
Additionally, Alexander stated that if Federline wanted to write a book, he should have had the courage to “tell the truth” about his part in it as well.
Alexander further expressed that Federline has the right to tell his side. However, he urged him not to play the victim.
His post further read, “Be real. Be accountable.”
He ended his post, saying that those who have been with Spears and cared about her know how the relationship went down, and that they are not “buying the rewrite.”
