Britney Spears has taken to Instagram to share her thoughts about her ex-husband’s new memoir.
Britney was married to Kevin Federline, with whom she shares two children, from 2004 to 2007. However, on October 21, he released a scathing memoir about the star titled You Thought You Knew.
The memoir covered some pretty wild claims about Britney, with Kevin alleging that the star drank while she was pregnant and took cocaine when she was breastfeeding. He also wrote that their children, Preston, 20, and Jayden, 19, woke up and saw their mom at their bedroom door holding a knife. Britney’s team has vehemently denied the disturbing allegations
In the Womanizer singer’s Instagram post, which she shared on October 20, Britney could be seen lying on a bed, sultrily posing with smoky eyes and her hair across her face.
For the caption, she explained to fans that she’ll be relaxing as the book is released, writing, “First time I took a picture of my face in bed!!! I look really different hmmmmmmm. I will stay in bed today. Anything good on TV??? LOL.”
As well as the aforementioned claims in Kevin’s book, the former dancer said he was supportive of Britney’s conservatorship, calling it a “lifeline,” and said he is concerned for her well-being.
“The truth is, this situation with Britney feels like it’s racing toward something irreversible. From where I sit, the clock is ticking, and we’re getting close to the 11th hour,” Kevin wrote.
He also said he couldn’t get behind the Free Britney movement, and claimed the singer saw her life “through a prism that painted her as the victim, the misunderstood one.”
Since Kevin began the promotion of the book, Britney and her team have clapped back at the claims.

According to the BBC, the 43-year-old had accused her ex-husband of attacking her in his press appearances and has described the memoir as “extremely hurtful and exhausting.”
Britney additionally defended her relationship with her two sons, writing on October 15, “I have always pleaded and screamed to have a life with my boys,” further explaining that “relationships with teenage boys [are] complex.”
A spokesperson for Britney told the media, “With news from Kevin’s book breaking, once again he and others are profiting off her, and sadly it comes after child support has ended with Kevin. All she cares about is her kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James, and their well-being during this sensationalism. She detailed her journey in her memoir.”
