Each holiday season Grace Fisher’s Winter Music Showcase transforms the spirit of giving into an evening of music and inspiration.

In its eighth year, the showcase will be 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14 at the Granada Theatre, and feature a range of performances, from orchestral works to bands, choirs and dancers, as well as a special appearance by Grammy Award-winning artist Michael McDonald.

Other entertainers are Santa Barbara Chamber Players, Jackson Gillies, Will Breman, the Waymarkers, Timo Nuñez’s Arte Flamenco Dance Studio, and Chris Fossek.

What began as a vision by award-winning artist and composer Grace Fisher to make the arts accessible to people of all abilities, has become a Santa Barbara holiday tradition designed to raise awareness and funds to advance disability inclusion in the arts.

“The Winter Music Showcase continues to grow into something bigger than I could have ever imagined,” Fisher said. “It’s not just about the music, it’s about bringing people together, celebrating the extraordinary talents of our community, and proving that art has the power to transcend barriers.

“Every ticket purchased and every dollar raised directly supports our mission to bring the joy and empowerment of art to people of all abilities. That’s what makes this showcase so meaningful.”

Since its inception in 2016, the Grace Fisher Foundation has worked to spread adaptive art, music, and dance to the disability community through innovative programs and its state-of-the-art Inclusive Arts Clubhouse located at La Cumbre Plaza in Santa Barbara.

Proceeds from the Winter Music Showcase directly fund these programs, ensuring people of all abilities have access to transformative experiences in the arts.

Tickets for the Grace Fisher Winter Music Showcase can be purchased online at https://ticketing.granadasb.org/21515/21516. Group sales of 10 or more recieve a $10 discount by calling the box office.

Sponsorship opportunities are available for individuals and organizations wishing to support the event. Donate at https://www.gracefisherfoundation.org/donate.

About Grace Fisher

Since her senior year in high school in 2014, when Fisher contracted a virus that spread to her spine, leaving her paralyzed from the neck down, she has dedicated herself to finding enlightenment and inspiring others through art and music.

In the days following her diagnosis of Acute Flaccid Myelitis, Grace was sent to Craig Rehabilitation Hospital in Denver, Colorado, where she was introduced to music therapy and adaptive art. This not only helped strengthen her body but also helped heal her mind and soul.

After returning home, she was approached by the Make-A-Wish Foundation in Santa Barbara. Grace’s wish before she turned 18 was to help other children with disabilities through art and music.

This began her legacy to pay it forward and lead others to a pathway through the arts, therapeutic movement, and creativity to help bring joy to those with physical and cognitive disabilities.
