Meghan Markle stunned supporters on Thursday when she made an unexpected appearance at a local event close to her Montecito residence without Prince Harry by her side.
The Duchess of Sussex, 44, showed up at the gathering held at Godmothers bookstore in Summerland, which was broadcast live online.
During the occasion, which Meghan attended to show support for her friend Courtney Adamo’s latest publication, the Duchess shared previously undisclosed insights about her life with Harry, 41, and their youngsters, Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four.

Addressing the crowd, Meghan spoke candidly about family traditions and the everyday schedule at their Montecito estate, which involves playing music throughout the home and lighting candles, reports the Express.
The Duchess also disclosed that she brings along a portable speaker and a fragrant candle whenever the family takes vacations. She said: “First thing I do when I wake up in the morning is turn the music on in the house. I always travel with a candle. I am so conscious and sensitive to fragrance and I associate that with home.”
Prince Harry‘s spouse additionally offered a glimpse into Princess Lilibet’s character, describing her daughter as “incredible.”
She said: “Our daughter she’s four and she’s a very strong personality and she’s incredible. And now she’s in this moment where I say, ‘What’s your rose and your thorn? And she goes, ‘My day was just a blast.'”
Meghan and Harry reportedly utilize a ‘healing blanket’ for their children when they’re under the weather, a gift from Victoria Jackson, co-founder of Godmother’s bookstore and a close friend.
Prince Harry, however, did not join his wife at Thursday’s event, presumably staying home with their two kids.
