  • Fans want to know if Jeremy Allen White is really singing in Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere.

Thanks to movie musical biopics like Bohemian Rhapsody, A Complete Unknown, and plenty of others, some might say we’re in the genre’s golden age. But while many rock stars have gotten the movie treatment Bruce Springsteen hasn’t—until now.

Luckily, fans don’t have to wait long for a film about his life: Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere hits theaters on October 24, 2025. The movie follows Bruce, played by The Bear star Jeremy Allen White, in the 1980’s as he creates his album Nebraska, which features iconic songs like “Atlantic City” and “I’m on Fire.”

That got us thinking: Does Jeremy Allen White actually sing in Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere? Turns out, the answer is simpler than we think.

Here’s the truth: If you watch Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere, that is Jeremy’s real singing voice. In fact, he teased how he was practicing his vocal skills for the movie when speaking with People in October 2025. He shared he only had seven months to prepare for the biopic, and even struggled with singing Bruce’s hit single “Born in the U.S.A.” on camera.

“My first thing was, can I perform these songs with a little bit of honesty?” he shared with the outlet. “Can I do justice to the lyrics?… We kind of got into trying to get closer to Bruce’s voice, but then there’s certain songs like ‘Born in the U.S.A.’ where there was nothing that could have prepared me.”

But that’s not all. Jeremy wanted to make sure Bruce approved of his take on how he covered his music, leading him to have some surprise realizations about singing in Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere.

“Taking the job was the most frightening thing I’ve done in my career,” he noted to Entertainment Tonight in October 2025. “I know how beloved Bruce is—and rightfully so. I know how many people feel very connected and intimately so…. I tried to approach the works as, ‘who is this man in 1981 and 1982? Who is this man making this record?’ Take the Bruce Springsteen out of it for a second, and Bruce gave me permission to do so.”

So, how did Bruce feel about Jeremy’s performance as him in Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere? As Jeremy commented, he was impressed with what the actor had to offer musically.

“I recorded about three months before shooting, and then Bruce listened,” he added. “Bruce said, ‘It sounds great. You sound like me, but not just like me. You made the songs your own, and that’s how I want you to make this film.'”

With all of this in mind, we’ll definitely go see Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere and belt out some tunes with Jeremy.
