Langley Tavern brings dining, entertainment to Jefferson Davis Highway

LANGLEY, SC — A new restaurant has opened along Jefferson Davis Highway, offering dining and entertainment options in an area where residents previously had to travel for a good meal.

Langley Tavern, housed in a large blue building near Food Lion, combines a bar and restaurant with a game room featuring pool tables, pinball machines and a sports simulator.

“If you lived in this area, you had to travel quite a bit to get a decent meal, have a drink, and there’s really not much for kids to do around here,” said Mike Iezzi, a partner in the restaurant.

Iezzi and his partners wanted to create more than just another bar for the community between Augusta and Aiken.

“We thought that if we were going to open and just be another bar, that wasn’t going to be good enough,” Iezzi said.

From franchises to independent restaurant

The tavern represents a change for Iezzi, who previously owned franchises after moving south from Pittsburgh.

“The corporate background’s one where you have everything put together for you. Every single procedure. Every single process. Here we had to develop that on our own,” Iezzi said.

That independence allowed the partners to customize both the menu and design. The restaurant serves a standard tavern menu with added entrees.

One partner, the original owner of Savvy Homes, contributed design expertise to the project.

“Everybody’s very impressed with it,” Iezzi said. “It’s just very unique. There’s not much like this around here.”

Langley Tavern is open seven days a week starting at 11 a.m.
