Hollywood Arts, the Victorious spinoff that was once in production Nickelodeon, has found a home at Netflix, as the streamer giant has officially announced the project.

Netflix has announced that the series will debut on the streamer in 2026 alongside releases on Nickelodeon and Paramount+ for a later window. Production commenced this month, and as Deadline noted, the move to Netflix seems to have come afer the merger of Paramount and Skydance, which saw Nickleodeon head Brian Robbins be ousted. Casting appears to have taken place prior to the move to Netflix.

The series stars Daniella Monet as her Victorious character Trina Vega, who returns to her former arts high school as a teacher.

What’s the plot of ‘Hollywood Arts’

According to the logline:

In this all-new series, struggling actress Trina Vega (Daniella Monet) returns to her former high school, Hollywood Arts, as an unqualified substitute teacher, quickly finding herself both clashing with and unexpectedly inspiring a new generation of ambitious and talented students as they learn to find their true path at Hollywood’s most elite performing arts school.

The series is written and executive produced by showrunners Jake Farrow and Samantha Martin. Director Jonathan Judge also executive produces with Monet.

Starring alongside Monet are Alyssa Miles, Emmy Liu-Wang, Peyton Jackson, Erika Swayze and Martin Kamm. Yvette Nicole Brown guest stars, reprising her role her guest starring role in Victorious as Helen, a role she first portrayed as a longtime recurring cast member on Drake & Josh. While on Victorious, Helen became principal of Hollywood Arts.

What Daniella Monet says about reprising Trina role

Monet said in a statement about what it was like for her to reprise her role as Trina.

“Coming back as Trina alongside such a dynamic, powerful cast of newcomers is something I feel very lucky and grateful to do,” she said. “Victorious was in a lot of ways life changing for all of us, our cast is forever bonded by that experience, and to think that I have an opportunity to steward anything close to that is a feeling I can’t begin to describe. As an actress, producer, and mom, I am so eager to create something we can all be proud to share with the world.”

All four seasons of Victorious, which aired between 2010 and 2013 on Nickelodeon, are available to stream on Netflix.

Hollywood Arts was originally announced this February. It was also made clear at this time that Dan Schneider, who produced Victorious, was not involved in the project. Schneider was the subject of Quiet on the Set, the documentary exposing his alleged harassment of child actors at Nickelodeon.
