Chase Chrisley opened up about his relationship with sister Savannah Chrisley since getting sober.

During the Wednesday, October 29, episode of the “Chrisley Confessions” podcast, Chase, 29, reflected on how his addiction struggles led to his falling out with Savannah, 28.

“She had every right to be upset with me and be mad,” he noted. “Savannah can hold a grudge though. She can hold a grudge.”

Chase and Savannah’s mother, Julie Chrisley, defended how her kids coped differently with their parents’ prison stints. Julie, 52, argued that Savannah dealt with her pain by working on getting them released. Her efforts paid off when they were pardoned by President Donald Trump in May and released after 28 months behind bars.

Like many sibling duos, Savannah Chrisley and Chase Chrisley’s relationship is far from perfect. Ever since Chrisley Knows Best premiered in 2014, viewers have had the chance to watch Todd and Julie Chrisley’s kids grow into adults. While Savannah and Chase’s sibling bond proved to be great reality TV, things got complicated once Todd and […]

“She was also in therapy,” Chase pointed out. “I just would never talk about how I felt and would never talk about my emotions. Eventually, you bottle all that up.”

Before his parents came home, Chase made headlines when he was arrested in January on a simple battery charge after being named as a suspect in an alleged assault at an Atlanta bar. He was taken into police custody and later released on a $10,000 bond.

Chase claimed through a statement from his lawyers at the time that the situation was “entirely blown out of proportion.” During an episode of Lifetime’s The Chrisleys: Back to Reality, which aired in September, Julie and husband Todd Chrisley expressed concern about their son’s behavior.

“When I had to find out about my son’s arrest while I was in prison, it makes me afraid,” Julie said in audio from a prison phone call. “The worst possible thing as a parent that you can think of is the thought that he is conducting himself in a way that is leading him down a bad path. It just, it breaks my heart.”

Todd, 56, shared his frustrations in a separate phone call. “I don’t know that I was shocked, because I had been warning Chase for years to stop with the drinking. There’s nothing in a bar that was gonna bring you no good fortune,” he said.

Chase’s relationship with Savannah also took a hit because of his drinking.

The Chrisley family was “completely divided” when Todd and Julie Chrisley were in prison, according to Lifetime’s The Chrisleys: Back to Reality docuseries. “Last I checked, no one else in my family is doing anything to fight for my parents,” Savannah Chrisley said during the September 1 premiere episode. “No one else is going out […]

“I have tried. I have tried to help him,” she said in a confessional interview on the reality show. “I had set up for him to go to a treatment facility. I had already bought him a plane ticket. We had already gone through the whole intake process and then he told me to go eff myself.”

Todd revealed on Wednesday’s podcast that his kids are in a “much better place” after Chase prioritized his sobriety. He previously celebrated Chase’s improvement on the October 22 episode of his and Julie’s show.

“My baby is back. I also don’t want to minimize that, because Chase had a problem with alcohol. … It’s a day-to-day thing and he is sober right now,” Todd shared. “It feeds my soul to be with him and just me and him have that one-on-one time together, doing the working out. I’m just so grateful that he is doing so well, and to see the light back in his eyes and to hear the joy coming from him and the plans, and excitement about living again.”

Despite their rocky relationship, Chase publicly supported his sister on social media as she fought for their family.

“I am so proud of you @savannahchrisley the work you have put in and the voice you have been for not only our family but all the families that don’t have a voice!” Chase wrote via Instagram in November 2024. “You’re truly an inspiration. Your persistence and drive is unmeasurable and I’m so proud to call you my sister! I love you!”
