Jessie J turned to social media to share an update with fans regarding her cancer journey.
She admitted feeling frustrated and disappointed. Moreover, she opened up about how excited she was to share some good news that had been the silver lining to initial bad news.
On Oct. 27, the English singer-songwriter took to Instagram and explained to fans that she was supposed to have a second breast surgery some weeks ago, but the procedure has been postponed.
The “Bang, Bang” singer admitted to fans how disappointed she was about the delay and also talked about how frustrated she felt about canceling tour dates in order to accommodate the surgery date.
“All of it’s out of my control, and it’s frustrating, but I’m trying to make the best of all of these situations that are happening this year in my life,” Jessie J explained.
Back in June, the singer revealed that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer.
The delay with her surgery was due to a change in the surgeon who will carry out the procedure. She explained that she met with her initial surgeon next week before the scheduled date, and he felt the surgery had become more complex than he had anticipated.
That’s when he referred the singer to a different surgeon, who felt confident that the procedure could wait a little while longer.
Though Jessie J felt frustrated by the change, she’s using this opportunity to get back out there and perform.
After learning about the turnaround, Jessie J emailed her agent and asked about rescheduling tour dates that had previously been postponed.
Her team was then able to make it happen.
“I’m so excited…This will be the first thing that I do [next year] and I’m just so happy that I got to make this happen so quickly,” Jessy J said.
According to the singer, fans who had tickets for the canceled shows should receive an email on October 28 with an opportunity to get new tickets before anyone else.
To Jessie J, this was her way of trying to make it up to them that the original shows were canceled.
Pre-sale for the upcoming dates becomes available on October 29 to anybody on the singer’s “No Secrets” email list. On October 31, remaining tickets will be made available via a general sale, open to everyone.
Fans are tickled about the happy news.
