Netflix‘s record-breaking fantasy hit keeps going up, up, up the studio’s box office charts. Although Netflix has been a pro-streaming studio, it has warmed up in recent months to release several of its original movies in theaters, including the third Knives Out installment, Wake Up Dead Man.
In light of KPop Demon Hunters becoming a global sensation, the studio made the shocking move to release the film in theaters with a sing-along event in late August. After shattering a box office record of $19.2 million, Netflix re-released the movie again during the Halloween weekend.
