The Tim Allen-led comedy has cast Adlon in a guest role as Gabriel’s (Seann William Scott) opinionated single mother. The episode is scheduled to air Dec. 10.
The logline for the episode, titled “Nutcracker,” reads, “This holiday season, the Parkers discover that romance isn’t always a smooth ride as Matt (Allen) and Eve (Jenna Elfman) are on thin ice, Gabe enlists Riley (Kat Dennings) to help Amelie (Carson Fagerbakke) impress his mom (Adlon), and Carter (Maxwell Simkins) seeks help with his ‘promposal.’”
Shifting Gears has gotten off to a solid start on ABC in its second season. The Oct. 1 season premiere drew 7.57 million cross-platform viewers over its first seven days; the show is averaging a little under 4 million viewers for its initial airings on the network.
