Over the years of hosting an NBC daytime series, viewers have seen Kelly play up her aesthetic depending on what mood she’s in. Well, for this year’s Halloween episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the star decided she’d take a step back in time for her look. And as for what fans managed to see on their TV screens … it certainly caused them to do a double take in the best way possible.
Channeling Madonna’s character Breathless Mahoney from the 1990 movie Dick Tracy (per a report from NBC Insider), Kelly looked stunning in a floor-length red satin dress. She donned a blond wig made of tight ringlet curls and matched her makeup to the ensemble, too! With a bright red lip and bold eye makeup, it was clear she was all about embracing the iconic look of the 1940’s—and she looked fabulous doing it.
When fans saw Kelly debut her daring new look on The Kelly Clarkson Show, it didn’t take long before they were applauding the look.
