Louisville’s most high profile Hollywood star may appear to be spending less time in the spotlight, but that doesn’t mean Jennifer Lawrence hasn’t been busy. She’s just a little more low key about her public persona, according to an profile recently published in The New York Times.

In the article titled “Jennifer Lawrence Regrets Everything She’s Ever Said Or Done,” Lulu Garcia-Navarro, a New York Times journalist and co-host of “The Interview,” talks with the 35-year-old Louisville native about everything from her sudden rise to stardom in her early 20s, that famous fall on the staircase on her way to accept her Oscar for “Silver Linings Playbook,” the challenges and joys of motherhood (Lawrence has two young children with husband Cooke Maroney), her revised view on speaking publicly about politics, and what’s next in her pipeline of work on the silver screen.

In May, Lawrence received high praise at the Cannes Film Festival for her performance alongside actor Robert Pattinson in “Die My Love.” Lawrence explained to Garcia-Navarro what is was like making the film, which includes some nudity, while pregnant with her second child.

“I was like, ‘Oh, I’ll just be four or five months,'” she said in NYT article. “I won’t even start showing until I’m like six or seven months. And that’s not true when it’s your second. I just had to let go of any kind of vanity. I sucked in as hard as I possibly could, but I wasn’t going to diet. I was pregnant. I couldn’t exercise. I was working. So, there’s just this real freedom to it.”

As for what she was up to during a period starting in 2018, when Lawrence made the choice to step back from the spotlight, she tells Garcia- Navarro, “I lived with my cousin for a little bit. ‘Hi, cuz!’ We watched TV. I took my dog to Central Park. Then I fell in love.”

You may remember, Lawrence wore a Dior wedding gown when she married art gallery director Maroney on Oct. 19, 2019 in Newport, Rhode Island. The star-studded guest list included Adele, Emma Stone, and Kris Jenner, plus plenty of Louisville family and friends.

Speaking of Stone, Lawrence announced she’s working on a new film project with her gal pal. The film centers around feminist icon, “Miss Piggy,” the world famous diva puppet made famous as part of Jim Henson’s “The Muppets” ensemble.

Lawrence is also set to reunited with actor Leonardo DiCaprio. The two actors previously worked together on the 2021 film “Don’t Look Up.” The duo’s next film, “What Happens at Night,” is described as a psychological thriller which will be directed by movie making icon Martin Scorsese.

When asked by Garcia-Navarro how she plans to prepare for working with two legends of the film industry, Lawrence said, “I’ll probably do what I always do, which is panic and then try to get in touch with an acting teacher and then meet the acting teacher and then never see them again. That’s my process.”
