Kendrick Lamar has once again overshadowed Drake at the Grammy Awards.
The Best I Ever Had artist, 39, has endured a challenging year watching his competitor’s diss track gain massive traction. Not only did Kendrick, 38, perform it at the Super Bowl with Drake‘s ex making an appearance, the song also secured five Grammys earlier this year.
The pattern appears to be continuing as the rapper enjoys further success at this year’s ceremony while Drake joins Weeknd facing what some call a “slap to the face” snub. While Kendrick rises to the top of this year’s most nominated list, Drake falls to the bottom.
For the 2026 Grammy Awards, Drake has secured just a single nomination in the Best Melodic Rap Performance category. He’s being recognized for his track Somebody Loves Me, a collaboration with PartyNextDoor.
Kendrick is also competing in that same category for his performance of luther with SZA. That represents one of nine nominations the rapper has earned.
Drake addressed the diss in a conversation with Billboard at the time. He remarked, “I didn’t really have anything to say about it. It just sounded like an ambitious thought to me. That’s all it was. I know good and well that [Lamar] ‘s not murdering me, at all, in any platform. So when that day presents itself, I guess we can revisit the topic.”
Prior to their split, the pair maintained a positive relationship and worked together on projects. Kendrick appeared on Drake’s successful 2011 album Take Care, just a year before serving as opening act for the singer during his Club Paradise tour.
Similar to last year, the 2026 Grammy Awards will be held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
