Weeks after turning all four judges’ chairs in her blind audition, Sumrall-native Kayleigh Clark went home Monday night, Nov. 10, ending her journey on NBC’s “The Voice.”
For her third and final performance, the 20-year-old sang LeAnn Rimes’ “Blue” during the Knockout Rounds, commanding the stage and capturing the judges’ attention with her vocal range and control.
Ultimately, judge Niall Horan, Clark’s chosen coach, chose sibling trio DEK of Hearts to advance, sending the Mississippi singer home. The trio performed an emotional rendition of Lady A’s “What If I Never Get Over You.”
Moments before choosing DEK of Hearts over Clark, Horan said the Sumrall native “smashed it.”
“That wall of sound DEK brings is beautiful, but your solo tone was just as impactful,” Horan told Clark.
During her blind audition on Sept. 29, Clark sang Sugarland’s “Stay,” prompting all four judges— Horan, Reba McEntire, Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé— to turn their chairs, meaning all four wanted Clark on their team.
Even though Clark said she has admired McEntire her entire life, the young country singer ultimately chose to join Horan’s team.
On Oct. 14, Clark advanced in the Battle Rounds with her rendition of Kelsea Ballerini and Noah Kahan’s “Cowboys Cry Too.” Clark sang the song as a duet with fellow contestant Camille Tredoux, and Horan chose to keep Clark on his team, sending Tredoux home.
In a Facebook post Monday night, Clark said her time on the voice was an experience unlike any she’s ever had.
“I have made the best connections, and friends I will love and cherish forever,” the post reads. “This has been one of the best summers of my life, and I will never ever forget it.”
Clark thanked Horan for giving her the confidence to perform and said she will take his feedback with her throughout her career.
“There’s a million different people I could thank, but we’d be here for hours,” the post says. “The ones who stuck by me through this entire ride, you know who you are, thank you so much.”
The singer also thanked DEK of Hearts for their support, calling the sibling trio her “family forever.”
Kayleigh Clark on American Idol 2023
Clark’s appearance on “The Voice” is not her first brush with TV singing competition shows. In 2023, when Clark was a 17-year-old homeschool senior, she had a brief run on “American Idol” Season 21.

Despite her illness, Clark made it through to the Top 55 but was sent home after her third performance. Clark competed against fellow Mississippians Zacariah Smith and Colin Stough, the latter of whom went on to win that season.

In her Facebook post, Clark said even though she’s leaving “The Voice,” her career is just getting started, hinting at possible upcoming projects.
“Keep an eye out, because we have some super exciting things coming soon!!” the post says. “2025 is gonna be hard to beat but I can’t wait to see what 2026 has in store!! I’ll see yall soon!!”
