Taylor Swift has received an unofficial invitation to perform in Las Vegas with (wait for it) the Backstreet Boys!
TMZ caught up with AJ McLean who had an incredible idea to bring Swift on stage at The Sphere to perform her song “Elizabeth Taylor” after a mash-up of the song with BSB’s “Everybody.” It appears as though the two songs were put together by Lydia Getachew, per Instagram. The mash-up has gone viral on TikTok and fans have absolutely loved it — and they aren’t the only ones.
McLean shared the mash-up tune on Instagram in October — and even got Swift’s attention.
“Come on now you know one of us had to! @taylorswift,” he captioned the post.
Then, Swift popped up in the comments section.
“OH HI AJ OH MY GOD,” she wrote. Her comment received more than 188,000 likes.
Now, McLean thinks it would be awesome to have Swift join him and the guys in Sin City to perform the song together.
“I don’t know if she’d ever do it, but I think Taylor would absolutely destroy it,” McLean told TMZ. “She is a fan, and we’re a massive fan of hers. I mean, she’s the sweetest. She’s been so kind to my daughters anytime that we’ve had a chance to hang out and meet her at her shows. She’s just the best.”
Given the feedback on the mash-up from fans, we’re certain that Swift would make quite the splash if she decided to perform “Elizabeth Taylor” with the guys, but we have a funny feeling that it won’t actually happen — at least not live. Swift has officially moved into a new era and she’s enjoying some time off after her wildly successful Eras Tour. Moreover, she’s got a wedding to plan!
But, hey. We can always dream, right?
