Rosamund Pike is reflecting on an awkward interaction she once had with James Bond actor, Pierce Brosnan.
During a recent appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, the former Bond girl looked back on filming the 2002 film Die Another Day, for which she filmed a love scene with Brosnan that didn’t go quite as planned.
While chatting with Clarkson for the Thursday, Nov. 13 episode of her talk show, Pike was asked about her most “embarrassing” moment on set, prompting her to recall her love scene-gone-wrong with Brosnan for the 2002 movie.
Pike filmed the intimate scene with Brosnan in an ice palce, where the two actors had to “tumble around with one another. At the time, the Gone Girl actress was only 21 years, while Brosnan was already considered an “icon” by then, having starred in three James Bond movies.
Pike explained that she wearing “modesty” coverings for the scene, telling Clarkson, “They tape up your boobs and tape every bit of you with this kind of double-sided sticky tape. I had never seen it before.”
“We came apart from this clinch, and I looked down to check these sticky things are still in place,” Pike said, only to find that “they were covered in hair.” Instantly, she assumed it must have been Brosnan’s chest hair.
“And I was like, ‘Oh my god, I’ve waxed Pierce Brosnan’s chest with my boob tape!'” she cried out. “And I’m like, ‘This is so bad’ and ‘poor guy.'”
While Clarkson, , chimed in to call the apparent chest hair-covered tape “disgusting,” Pike then clarified. that it actually wasn’t Brosnan’s chest hair.
“It was the furry rugs,” she revealed, noting that she and Brosnan had been rolling around in rugs made of fake fur for the scene.
“And I thought I was just getting more and more covered in Pierce’s chest hair,” she recalled while visibly cringing.
