EXCLUSIVE: SMAC Entertainment, the management and production company co-founded by Constance Schwartz-Morini and Michael Strahan, has signed New Orleans Pelicans center DeAndre Jordan, the company announced Friday.
Jordan becomes SMAC’s first active NBA player client as the firm continues expanding its roster in basketball. The company will work with him to build new business ventures — including entertainment production opportunities, endorsements, licensing, and strategic partnerships — as he broadens his footprint in entertainment media.
A three-time All-NBA and two-time NBA All-Defensive Team selection, Jordan twice led the league in rebounding. He won a gold medal with the U.S. Men’s Olympic Basketball Team in 2016 and earned his first NBA All-Star nod in 2017. He currently holds the NBA record for best career field goal percentage at 67.4%.
A Houston native, Jordan played at Texas A&M before being selected 35th overall in the 2008 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers, where he spent 10 seasons. He later played for the Dallas Mavericks, New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets, and Los Angeles Lakers. Before joining New Orleans, he was with the Denver Nuggets and was part of their 2023 NBA Championship team.
Jordan joins SMAC Entertainment’s roster of sports and media personalities including Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders, Strahan, Stefon Diggs, DK Metcalf, Travis Hunter, Erin Andrews, and more. Recent SMAC-produced projects include Prime Video titles Evolution of the Black Quarterback, It’s in the Game: Madden NFL, and Coach Prime. Upcoming titles include Netflix’s three-part docuseries Prime Time and an untitled Michael Vick/Norfolk State series at BET.
