Saddle up, Yellowstone fans—because we finally know when Kayce Dutton is riding back into our lives! CBS just announced the official premiere date for Y: Marshals, the long-awaited spinoff starring Luke Grimes, and it’s coming a lot sooner than some of us expected.
Y: Marshals will premiere Sunday, March 1, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS, kicking off a full night of shows. It’ll air right after 60 Minutes, and from there the network shifts into a very Yellowstone-friendly rotation, with Tracker at 9 p.m. and Watson closing out the night. In other words, CBS is clearly betting big on Kayce and whatever trouble he’s about to walk into.
The new series picks up after the events of Yellowstone season 5 and drops Kayce into a completely different world. He’s stepping away from ranch life and joining a specialized U.S. Marshals unit in Montana, which means we’ll see him lean into his military background while still carrying that Dutton edge fans know so well. It’s part law-enforcement drama, part modern Western, and fans have been buzzing about it since the day Taylor Sheridan announced it.
Of course, a new chapter doesn’t mean old faces disappear! Old cast members like Gil Birmingham, Mo Brings Plenty, and Brecken Merrill are all returning and reuniting on the small screen. The presence of Tate alone tells us Kayce isn’t leaving every part of his life behind, even as he tries to build something new away from the ranch. (Though there’s still no official word on Monica’s status, which is a bit of a mystery, especially considering the wedding ring Kayce is seen wearing in the show’s first previews.)
Beyond that, there’s a whole lineup of newcomers riding in, too! Arielle Kebbel joins as Belle, Ash Santos steps in as Andrea, and Tatanka Means plays Miles, who are all part of the Marshals team. Brett Cullen plays Harry Gifford, the Montana chief overseeing the operation, which feels like an authoritative role that might bump heads with Kayce. And then there’s Logan Marshall-Green as Pete Calvin, a friend from Kayce’s military days who feels destined to stir up at least *some* trouble.
One thing is for sure: Y: Marshals isn’t trying to recreate Yellowstone. It’s carving out its own corner of the universe with a focus on justice, family, and whatever it looks like when Kayce Dutton swaps a horse for a Marshals badge. Watching him try to balance duty with the weight of everything he’s lived through over the original show’s five seasons might be the most compelling part of all.
March 1 can’t get here soon enough!
