The Louisiana Art & Science Museum, 100 S. River Road, Baton Rouge, will host Family Hour Stargazing from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Nov. 29 in the Irene W. Pennington Planetarium.

Opera Louisiane

Closed for holidays

The LSU Museum of Art in the Shaw Center for the Arts, 100 Lafayette St., Baton Rouge, will be closed from Nov. 26 to Nov. 30 for the Thanksgiving holidays. The museum will reopen on Dec. 2.

‘Nutcracker’ tickets

Tickets are on sale for Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre’s annual production of “The Nutcracker — A Tale From The Bayou,” set for four performances on Dec. 20-21 in the Raising Cane’s River Center Performing Arts Theater, 240 St. Louis St., Baton Rouge.

Cangelosi ‘Nutcracker’

Tickets are on sale for the Cangelosi Dance Project’s annual “Holiday Nutcracker,” set for two performances on Dec. 20 at the Dunham School’s Brown-Holt Theatre, 11111 Roy Emerson Drive, Baton Rouge.

‘8 Fluid Ounces’

The LSU School of Art’s biennial “cup show,” “8 Fluid Ounces,” will be on view, with works for sale, through Dec. 12, in Glassell Gallery in the Shaw Center for the Arts, 100 Lafayette St., Baton Rouge.

The exhibition will feature 100 ceramic cups and vessels by 20 artists invited from across the country by guest curator and visiting artist Ruth Easterbrook. The cups and vessels are available for sale.

Scheduled coinciding programs for the show is an Interactive Throwing Wheel Demonstration with LSU Ceramic Arts Student Association Vice President Lance Wilson from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 16.

Gallery hours are noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Admission is free. Visit design.lsu.edu/news-and-events/events/.
