Virgin Voyages’ entertainment at sea is coming ashore. To make that happen, the cruise line has launched a production branch, “Screw It, Let’s Do It Productions,” named after Virgin Group founder Richard Branson’s favorite one-liner.
The new production company will bring Virgin Voyages shows and parties to theaters and Virgin hotels. Supporting the initiative is Virgin Voyages’ new 30,000-square-foot rehearsal studio in Orlando featuring full-scale replicas of onboard venues The Red Room and The Manor.
“Booked” will open on land next year after debuting this month on the Scarlet Lady. Virgin Voyages doesn’t yet have details about where the show will be performed.
Created by No Ceilings Entertainment’s Kim Willecke, Phil Shaw and Dennis Jauch, “Booked” blends dance, acrobatics and cabaret-style storytelling. No Ceilings is joining the Screw It, Let’s Do It Productions advisory board, along with Tony Award-winning producers Eva Price and Jenny Gersten.
Virgin Voyages’ Scarlet Night party is also coming ashore next year and will be produced in both the U.S. and England at the Virgin Hotels Las Vegas and Virgin Hotels London-Shoreditch.
