Ray Stevens has returned to work after a July heart attack and has announced a new album.
“I’m trying to get strong enough to continue performing,” the Country Music Hall of Fame member said in a release. “But in the meantime, I’ve got a lot of work I want to do in the recording studio, so I intend to focus my attention there for now.”
The two-time Grammy winner will release “Ray Stevens Favorites Old and New” on Feb. 12. The first single, “Savannah,” will arrive the same day.
According to Country Insider, Stevens is also considering selling his CabaRay Showroom entertainment complex in West Nashville. T
“I’d like to sell it,” Stevens says. “I just need someone to give me a call and make an offer I can understand and can’t refuse.”
Stevens sold more than 40 million records during his 60-year career, including “The Streak” and “Everything Is Beautiful.”
In July, Stevens suffered what was being described as a “mild heart attack.”
The country music legend was admitted to a Nashville hospital after he began experiencing chest pain. He underwent a heart catheterization procedure, citing a statement from his publicity team, that confirmed that he’d had a heart attack.
