AN acclaimed sportsman and member of the Royal family is set to join the lineup for the Hay Festival in 2026.
Mike Tindall, an English rugby player and the husband of King Charles’s niece, Zara, will be teaming up with fellow player James Haskell and presenter Alex Payne.
Guests have been told to “buckle up” for a riotous evening filled with “boyish banter, rugby reminiscence and surprisingly personal stories of life beyond the pitch”.
The “energising mix” of storytelling and mischief, with plenty of “game talk” and discussions on the development of their careers, will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026.
Tindall became the final member of England’s 2003 World Cup-winning team to retire in 2024.

Tindall, who married into the Royal family in 2011, started his career with Bath in 1997 and spent eight seasons at the Rec before moving to their West Country rivals Gloucester.
In 2022, Tindall participated in the 22nd series of the hit ITV show, I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! leaving the jungle after three weeks in fourth place.
