“This is Showgirl,” Herbig said. “This not only brings together the colors, it’s got a little Chiefs in there, a little Kansas City.”
Herbig said on Friday more than two dozen businesses along main street will celebrate the release of Taylor Swift’s new album, “The Life of a Showgirl.”
“Everybody is focused on celebrating,” Herbig said. “So, you’ll see Showgirl colors, you’ll see Taylor Swift stuff, you’ll see Chiefs stuff or a collab like my Taylor Swift lips with my Kelce jersey. So, everybody will kind of do their own thing, but it’s fun, and music, and food.”
Herbig said people can expect to see Swift inspired artwork, cocktails and clothes.
A variety of businesses are preparing, getting their restaurants and stores Bejeweled.
“We kind of feel like she’s our hometown girl now,” Denise Glanzer said. “Travis has always been our hometown guy and now we feel like she’s part of our hometown, too, and so everybody wants to get into the celebration of their engagement.”
Glanzer owns White Farmhouse Flowers and Gifts.
They special ordered Showgirl Chocolates and orange Showgirl inspired sweatshirts.
They’ll also offer peach bellinis as people shop and listen to the new album.
Herbig said she’s serving a cocktail called “Champagne Problems.”
Glanzer said she’s not surprised Parkville businesses pulled this event together in less than a Fortnight.
“Downtown Parkville is a really unique town,” Glanzer said. “We have a lot of community over competition down here. We all like to do things together and put on these big events.”
Glanzer and Herbig are offering 13% off items in their stores on Friday, in honor of Swift’s favorite number.
