Kyle Richards confirms she was in a relationship after Mauricio Umansky split

Kyle Richards was in a relationship after separating from Mauricio Umansky.

“Since separating from Mau, I was in a relationship,” she confirmed on Thursday’s episode of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”

“I was in a very vulnerable place in my life and I fell hard for this person,” she added.

The Bravolebrity explained that her partner was uncomfortable with the public knowing about their romance, though she would have been happy to share the news with fans.

“All the speculation and the gossip and the talking is what ultimately ended it,” Richards said. “I could have weathered the storm, but this is not for everyone.”

Richards, 56, discussed her former relationship with several co-stars throughout the episode.

“I am so tired of people asking about my dating life,” she told Erika Jayne.

“Erika, if you were seeing someone that you cared very much about, that specifically says, ‘Please, I’m not a part of this group. Be respectful.’ Would you betray that person?” she continued. “Just because people are curious.”

Richards became emotional as she confirmed that she is “single now.”

“I was seeing someone who I cared about very much,” she said through tears. “If it was only me, I would give all the answers they want. But it’s not just about me.”

Richards suggested that she might still be with her ex if that person wasn’t “so afraid of the public scrutiny and the life under a microscope.”

Jayne then reflected on Richards’ relationship struggles in a confessional.

“Imagine getting out of an almost 30-year marriage, unexpectedly falling in love with someone but you can’t talk about that love,” Erika said. “That’s a really hard place to be.”

Jayne added that she is “very proud” of her friend for confronting the truth.

“She’s open, understanding. Finally willing to be vulnerable,” Jayne said.

News surfaced that Richards and Umansky, 55, had separated after 27 years of marriage in July 2023.

The exes have continued to co-parent their kids: Alexia, 29, Sophia, 25, and Portia, 17. Umansky is also a stepfather to Richards’ daughter from her first marriage to Guraish Aldjufrie, Farrah, 37. 

Shortly after their split, Richards sparked romance rumors with country singer Morgan Wade after they were spotted spending lots of time together. However, both women have stated that they are just friends.
