Former prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor made his first public appearance on Friday since being stripped of all royal titles.
The 65-year-old was seen attending the christening of his granddaughter, Athena, daughter of Princess Beatrice, at the Chapel Royal, St. James’ Palace.
He was photographed arriving in a dark green Range Rover through a side gate. He also appeared to avoid media attention outside the main entrance, per People.
The outing coincides with the release of new photos from Jeffrey Epstein’s personal collection, reportedly retrieved from the late financier’s email account and computer by Democrats on the US House Oversight Committee.
The images include Mountbatten-Windsor, as well as figures such as Bill Gates, Donald Trump, and Woody Allen.
However, the Andrew photo stands out as it does not show Epstein, also leading to speculations that the photo was altered, People reported.
The original photo shows Andrew and Bill Gates with King Charles at a 2018 London summit, but King Charles is cropped out in the new version from the estate.
In October, King Charles III formally stripped Andrew of all his remaining royal titles, including Duke of York, Earl of Inverness, Baron Killyleagh, and the style “His Royal Highness,” along with honours such as the Order of the Garter and Knight Grand Cross of the Victorian Order.
While Andrew had agreed to stop using his titles, the King still went ahead with the formal removal process.
Reports indicate that Andrew is also expected to vacate royal residences by January 31 at the latest.
The former prince’s ties to Epstein have remained under scrutiny since 2021, when Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre filed a sexual assault lawsuit against him.
He denied the claims, but the case was settled out of court in 2022. Giuffre later died by suicide in April 2025, and renewed attention followed the posthumous release of her memoir, Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice.
