The Prince of Wales is the “best Papa in the world”, his wife and children have said as they celebrate his 44th birthday and Father’s day.
The Princess of Wales, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis signed off the message on social media, adding: “We love you very much”.
The message was accompanied by a photograph of the Prince and his 11-year-old daughter. It shows the Prince with his arm around Princess Charlotte at Kensington Palace after Trooping the Colour.
The image was taken by Matt Porteous, one of the photographers the Wales family has chosen to capture their lives away from the public eye.
The Prince’s birthday falls on Father’s Day by coincidence this year, allowing the Wales family to hold a double celebration on Sunday.
It is the only public element of an otherwise private celebration, which will see the family mark the day in their usual style at home.
