Tribute to the Crafts “honors those who are at the very heart of filmmaking and have exhibited extraordinary work behind the camera over the past year,” according to American Cinematheque. The evening honors 13 categories across every major craft, and honorees are selected by a jury of journalists, film historians and cinephiles.
Production designer Jack Fisk (Marty Supreme) will receive the Career Achievement Award. His credits include There Will Be Blood, The Revenant, The Tree of Life, Mulholland Drive and Killers of the Flower Moon. This year’s Unsung Hero Award will recognize the late Andrew J. Kuehn Jr, who was a marketing genius behind the reshaping of movie trailers. In honor of Kuehn, the American Cinematheque added a new category for Best Trailer.
