Candlelight Christmas
The rotating-member Listeso String Quartet drives a sleigh-ful of Christmas music, illuminated by thousands of candles, for a Candlelight Concert, 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Albert Pike Memorial Center, 712 Scott St., Little Rock.
The tentative program: “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” from “The Nutcracker” by Peter Ilich Tchaikovsky; a set of carols and holiday tunes that includes “Greensleeves,” “Carol of the Bells,” “O Holy Night,” “O Tannenbaum,” “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” “Let It Snow!” and “Jingle Bells”; José Feliciano’s “Feliz Navidad”; Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”; seasonal songs from Broadway musicals, including “Let It Go” from “Frozen,” “Once Upon a December” from “Anastasia” and “Maestro” from “The Holiday”; Michael Bublé’s version of “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas”; Wham!’s version of “Last Christmas”; and Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”
There’s an age requirement — you must be 8 or older — to attend; anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Candle shop workshop
The Candle Shop at Historic Washington State Park, 103 Franklin St., Washington (Hempstead County), hosts a candle-making workshop, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday that includes a segment on the history of candle-making; participants can take home their creations. Attendees must be 12 or older. There will be a one-hour break for lunch (on your own). Cost is $25 per person and reservations are required — call (870) 983-2684.
Santa, booked
Santa Claus will be spending at least part of the weekend at the Argenta Library, 420 Main St., North Little Rock, under the aegis of the North Little Rock Public Library System.
For “Furry Photos with Santa,” 6-8 p.m. Friday, he’ll be on hand for free photos with pets. (“Holiday bandanas and festive attitudes are highly encouraged,” according to a news release, presumably for pets though it might also apply to owners.)
And 10 a.m.-noon on Saturday, families can head to the library for what the release describes as “warm pancakes, cozy vibes and a picture‑perfect moment with Santa.”

Comedian, writer, producer and director Whitney Cummings, in a show postponed from October due to scheduling conflicts, will bring her “Big Baby” tour to Fayetteville’s Walton Arts Center, 495 W. Dickson St., 7 p.m. May 9. The center will honor all previously purchased tickets for the original show date; tickets, $46.86-$69.86, are still available.
