This week, it was reported that Gisele Bündchen had married her partner Joaquim Valente in early December. The couple kept their ceremony a secret for several weeks, which was reportedly held in Surfside, Florida. A source in Miami now tells People that the model wanted to be as private as possible as she and Valente took this next step together.
“Gisele is tired of all of the attention on her private life, but [she and Valente] are both so happy being together, and being new parents it was what they wanted to do. They are best friends with a lot in common and are so excited about everything,” the source stated. “Gisele just wants to do things her own way. And a small, private non-event was what she wanted.”
They went on to say that Bündchen is doing very well at home in Miami with Valente and their son, who they welcomed earlier this year. She also shares two children with her ex-husband, Tom Brady, 16-year-old Benjamin and 13-year-old Vivian.
“Her life is filled with her kids, her loving family and work, but it is more manageable,” the source shared. “She is happy being married again, happy being a mom and happy in her environment. It is an enviable position.”
A second source elaborated on the wedding, saying Bündchen didn’t want anything “over the top.”
