Dakota Johnson might be ending the year with a potential new romance brewing. The actress was photographed sitting beside the singer Role Model (whose real name is Tucker Pillsbury) at a candlelit dinner with friends during the holidays. TMZ ran the photos, with sources telling the outlet that Johnson was “lying on him all cuddled up at the cozy dinner.”
Both Pillsbury and Johnson are single, with the actress’s years-long romance with ex-fiancé Chris Martin ending this past June. The affectionate outing has sparked dating intrigue, but it remains unclear whether she and Pillsbury are anything more than friends.
In November, a source told People that Johnson had begun opening herself up to new romance following her split from Martin. “[She] has been slowly dating again, and she’s happy,” the insider said. “Her relationship with Chris was often hot and cold, and while she always hoped they’d work out, she seems lighter and more at peace now that it’s final.”
Earlier in May, Johnson spoke to ELLE UK about playing a matchmaker in Materialists, noting how different her own experience with dating has been. “I find the whole concept of the film so interesting, because it’s so foreign to me,” she began. “I’ve never dated anybody. I’ve had boyfriends, but I have never been on a dating app. I just don’t know that world. So, it was so interesting and intriguing. It’s the most beautiful side of humanity, but it can also be the most ugly. Loving someone is the most scary and beautiful thing you can do.”
