Sarah Ferguson reportedly sent Christmas cards to the royal family, which included “pleading” messages. Ferguson’s ex-husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, was stripped of his royal title, “Duke of York,” last year. And although Ferguson retained the courtesy title, “The Duchess of York,” despite being divorced from Andrew decades ago, last year she, too, had to give up her royal title. Meanwhile, the pair were also ordered to vacate their home at Royal Lodge mansion and move to another place. Amidst this, recent reports suggest that she is trying to make things better amid ongoing tensions in the family.

Sarah Ferguson’s included apologies in ‘pleading’ messages to Royal Family — report

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, have reportedly been asked to vacate Royal Lodge. Amid this, Express reported that the British author sent Christmas cards to members of the royal family, including King Charles. She even offered an apology in the card, “expressing regret for past events involving the House of York.”

As per a royal aide, the messages Ferguson wrote in the card seemed “pleading.” The aide further said that the tone of the messages implied that she may be attempting to “smooth” things over and mend tensions within the family. Another source told OK! that Ferguson, 66, also sent cards to King Charles and Queen Camilla. This could be an effort to maintain stability during a challenging transition phase for the couple.

Ferguson and Andrew married in 1986. However, the couple parted ways ten years later in 1996. They share two kids, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. Despite getting divorced, they continued living together in the royal mansion. Last year, they were asked to vacate Royal Lodge on the orders of King Charles in October 2025. In fact, Andrew was also reportedly stripped of his “Duke of York” title. The duo is reportedly busy packing these days to move to their new place soon.
