Alia Bhatt has added her voice to the chorus of praise for Ranveer Singh’s latest film, Dhurandhar, which has topped India’s box office charts. On Thursday, the actor’s production house, Eternal Sunshine, released a statement expressing admiration for the film’s accomplishment and its resonance with contemporary audiences.
The statement from Eternal Sunshine read, “It’s the voice of today’s India. It’s the choice of today’s India. It’s based on a chapter in history. And now it’s the number one chapter in India’s cinema history.”
Further highlighting the celebrations around Dhurandhar, the production house added, “Cheers to Dhurandhar. And three cheers to the entire team. You not only created waves. You brought the high tide back to the theatres.”
The statement concluded with anticipation for the film’s sequel, saying, “If this is what part one did in winter, imagine what part two will bring in spring.” Dhurandhar 2 is slated to release in theatres on March 19.
On social media, Alia shared the official statement via her Instagram stories, adding the words, ‘Movie Magic’. She and Ranveer have previously worked together, notably in Gully Boy and Rocky Aur Ranii Ki Prem Kahaani.
Earlier in the day, actor Vivek Oberoi shared his thoughts on Dhurandhar, calling it “not as spectacle, but as an unflinching act of remembrance and reckoning.” He commended director Aditya Dhar and referenced the film’s emotional and historical undertones.
Vivek further praised the film’s narrative approach, saying it “doesn’t just narrate; it lets the story bleed,” and expressed gratitude to those serving at the nation’s borders. “To the men and women, KNOWN and UNKNOWN, who stand as our shield while we sleep—Dhanyawad (Thank you). Our nation is forever in your debt (sic),” he concluded in his post.
In March, the sequel of Dhurandhar will clash with Yash’s Toxic and Adivi Sesh’s Dacoit at the box office.
