- Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir will compete on the fourth season of Peacock’s reality show “The Traitors.”
- The show pits 23 celebrities against each other in a Scottish castle for a chance to win $250,000.
- Weir’s former skating partner, Tara Lipinski, is also a contestant on this season.
Greenville resident Johnny Weir is no stranger to reality TV.
The Olympic figure skater-turned-NBC figure skating analyst has competed or appeared on a variety of shows, including “Dancing with the Stars,” “The Masked Singer,” “The Surreal Life,” “MasterChef” and “Cribs.”
He also hosted Food Network’s “Wedding Cake Challenge” with skating commentator booth partner Tara Lipinski and even had one for two seasons all about his own life called “Be Good Johnny Weir.”
On Jan. 8, he will add to his reality résumé on Peacock’s “The Traitors,” pitting him against 22 other celebrities in Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands. (Lipinski is also a competitor on this season of “The Traitors.”)
If he comes out on top, he takes home $250,000. (Weir was unavailable to comment; Peacock does not allow interviews with contestants before the airing of the program.)
The fourth season of the Alan Cumming-hosted show will debut with three episodes on the NBC streaming service at 6 p.m.
Two more episodes will drop Jan. 15, followed by one new episode weekly through the finale and reunion event on Feb. 26.

Based on the original Dutch series, the American version of “The Traitors” debuted in 2023.
Past winners include “Survivor” star Cirie Fields (Season 1), CT Tamburello and Trishelle Cannatella of “The Real World” (Season 2) and “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Dolores Catania, TV personality/influencer Dylan Efron, “The Bachelor” star Gabby Windey and British aristocrat Ivar Mountbatten (Season 3).
The show is a social deduction reality competition blending elements of a “Clue”-type murder mystery dinner party and the classic games such as Mafia or Werewolf.
Cumming secretly handpicks a small group of contestants to be “Traitors,” who try to remain undetected and eliminate everyone else. The rest are the “Faithful,” unaware of who the “Traitors” are, and try to identify and vote them out.
