Kayce Dutton may be a cowboy-boots-and-Wranglers guy, but Luke Grimes just reminded everyone he can pull off a tuxedo, too!
The Yellowstone favorite made a rare red-carpet appearance at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, January 11, stepping out in a sleek all-black suit before heading inside to help present the “Best Supporting Male Actor – Television” award. For fans who mostly know Grimes when he’s in full character under the Montana sky (and usually surrounded by horses), this glamorous change-up was enough to make even the most seasoned Yellowstone viewer do a double take.
The timing, however, makes perfect sense. Grimes is about to ride back into the Yellowstone universe in Marshals, the upcoming spinoff (formerly titled Y: Marshals) that brings Kayce into a new chapter.
On the red carpet, he acknowledged that playing his original Yellowstone character in the new series is bit like coming home. “It feels very comfortable,” he told MTV. “I’ve been playing him for 8 years. I know the guy pretty well.”
Everything else about the show, of course, will be new—which is exactly what has fans intrigued. And Grimes sounds more than ready for it. “This character has changed my life in so many ways,” he said. “I’ll ride this ride as long as they let me.”
Marshals premieres March 1 on CBS, so fans won’t have to wait much longer to see what Kayce does next!
