Popular gaming mecca Dave & Buster’s will open its first Sonoma County location next week with a special gift for those who are willing to line up early to get in.
After more than a year in the works, the Texas-based restaurant and entertainment center’s newest location will debut Monday in Santa Rosa’s downtown mall at 600 Santa Rosa Plaza.
When the doors open at 11 a.m., the first 100 people in line will receive free games for the entire day, the company said on Eventbrite.
According to its website, entry to Dave & Buster’s is free, but guests need to buy credits on a Power Card, available at the front desk, to play games that can range from 50 cents to over $2 per play.
The Santa Rosa Dave & Buster’s venue will have hundreds of arcade games, including Pacman Rollers (a type of rollerball), a flight simulator inspired by the movie “Top Gun: Maverick,” a UFC-themed fighting game and Godzilla Virtual Reality.
Additionally, the venue will offer immersive sports viewing on a 40-foot screen and dozens of HDTVs surrounding its bar. Menu offerings will include chicken wings, protein bowls, burgers and shareable appetizers, along with handcrafted cocktails, beer and specialty drinks.
The Santa Rosa venue will be Dave & Buster’s second location in the North Bay after Fairfield. The company, founded in 1982, boasts 180 locations across the United States and will now have five locations in the Bay Area with the other three in Concord, Daly City and San Jose.
The location in the Santa Rosa Plaza, which was previously home to Mervyn’s and later a Forever 21, is one of the chain’s largest, featuring 43,000 square feet of space compared to the average store’s approximately 25,000 square feet of space, the North Bay Business Journal reported Dec. 22.
Dave & Buster’s Santa Rosa hours of operation will be Monday and Tuesday from 11 a.m. to midnight, Wednesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m., and Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to midnight.
