The cultural calendar is packed! These are the art exhibitons, pop culture moments, and dining destinations setting the tone right now.

IMAGINING FUTURE

A major international art and technology, exhibition, tilted Are You Human?, reflects on the impact of evolving technologies and imagines new possibilities for a more inclusive and empathetic future. Organised by Khoj International Artists’, the exhibition brings Indian and international artists together to explore bodies, machines, and public space. The show run at Khoj Studios from January 30 to February 28, and at DLF Avenue Mall, Saket till February 10. It’s accompanied by Notes from the Digital Underground, a two-day art and technology symposium at Max Mueller Bhavan.

ABSTRACT WORLD

Explore artist Sujata Bajaj’s abstract work as she presents a solo show, tilted Spacescapes, at Alliance Française Gallery, Lodhi Estate. Her series blends abstraction with the vast beauty of the cosmos. Spacescapes is a testament to Bajaj’s dynamic approach to art, seamlessly integrating traditional techniques with the innovative possibilities.The show will run from January 29 to February 14.

PORTRAITS OF IDENTITY

Pristine Contemporary, New Delhi, presents No One Can Silence Me, a solo exhibition by acclaimed Belgian artist Saskia Pintelon, on view from February 1 to 28. Featuring 27 portrait-led works, the show explores visibility, ageing, and emotional presence through expressive faces and handwritten text. Wry, direct, and quietly defiant, Pintelon’s portraits resist erasure, turning the human face into a powerful and honest declaration of identity.

CREATIVE LAB

Objectry marks a decade of its journey with the opening of its first standalone store on MG Road, New Delhi. Founded by Aanchal Goel, the immersive new space reflects the brand’s love for material exploration, process-led design, and playful making. Designed with Ishaan Bharat of visual arts agency Sector Form, the space is less a retail store, more a living, evolving environment for objects, ideas, and people.

GLOBAL VOICES AT KLF

The Kerala Literature Festival returns for its ninth edition from January 22 to 25 at the Kozhikode beachfront. Billed as Asia’s largest and the world’s most attended literary festival, KLF 2026 will host over 400 speakers from 17 countries across 250 sessions. With Germany as the guest nation, Nobel laureates, global thinkers, artists and performers, KLF promises four vibrant days of ideas, dialogue, and culture by the sea.

ARCHIVE OF RESISTANCE

A winner of the 2024 Future Generation Art Prize, Ashfika Rahman’s first solo exhibition in India at Vadehra Art Gallery features three immersive installations alongside photographs and interactive audio-visual works.Titled Of Land, River, and Body (Mati, Nodi, Deho), Rahman’s multimedia practice explores displacement, gendered climate violence, and human rights, documenting marginalised communities with empathy and archival rigour. The show is on display till January 24.

WOVEN STORIES

Over 40 rare Pre-Partition phulkaris and baghs from Punjab find space at an exhibition presented by gallerist Bhavna Kakar at Latitude 28, Delhi. Titled Sut te Saah: Stories Woven in Phulkari, the exhibition explores birth, love, ritual, and everyday life. Each of these phulkaris and baghs reflect moments—big and small—in the lives of women, which rarely find their way into the annals of art and textile history. The exhibition is on display till January 26.

SHARED FORMS

Threshold Art Gallery presents Intimate Terrains, a joint exhibition by Shanthi Swaroopini from India and Michal Glikson from Australia. Rooted in their shared training at MS University, Vadodara, the show brings together Swaroopini’s introspective figuration and Glikson’s nomadic, scroll-based narratives. Through sculpture, works on paper, scrolls, and films, the exhibition explores identity, memory, movement, and lived experience as evolving and deeply personal landscapes. The show is on view till February 28.

59 YEARS OF CELEBRATION

Birla Academy of Art and Culture in Kolkata is celebrating its 59th anniversary with much fan fare.The highlight exhibition, Zameen, features works by artists including Zarina Hashmi, Mithu Sen, and Riyas Komu. It also hosts a competitive exhibition, public art projects, and evening performances. The celebrations, which kicked off on January 9, will continue till February 8.

IMMERSIVE DINING

Gurugram welcomes She’s Here from the team behind Delhi’s beloved Call Me Ten. The restaurant fuses modern Japanese dining with global influences, offering an Omakase Bar, live Teppanyaki, Kushiyaki, and Robata grills. Chef Vaibhav Bhargava crafts a menu blending Wafu cuisine, signature sushi, and layered umami dishes, while the cocktails highlight Japanese ingredients with seasonal flair.
